1st Baby Purchase
Well, we made our first actual baby purchase on Monday, July 26th! (I did buy white onesies earlier on just to have something baby in the house but that doesn’t count!) So we did a few errands and I wanted to go to Goodwill to scope out what they may have had in baby supplies/clothes. We just went to the one that is two miles from our house. When we got there we saw the jogging stroller below for $40. It was basically brand new and even the tires still had the rubber spokes attached to them. It must have been used only once or twice! It even came with a baby carrier for when the baby is still young. This is not going to be the stroller we use for everyday use, just for when I run, which is why we wanted to buy one like this used. It was actually the one I was looking at getting for our travel system (car seat, car seat base, and stroller) but now that we looked at it, the one we picked out is much more comfortable for the baby for everyday and long term use. We’ll have to get a cushion for this one but it was a steal at $40 for what looks like a brand new jogging stroller! It was just luck though because it was dropped off that morning and we purchased it in the afternoon! We almost couldn’t get it home though. The wheels were too big to fit in our trunk so it was hanging out the trunk for the ride home. We were very glad it was only a two mile drive!

Ultrasound on 7/7/10
Here are a few pictures from the ultrasound we had done on 7/7/10. I was 19 weeks, 4 days at that point. I think this one is the best one...a hand on the head!

Here's another one of the face.

So…the appt. Well, I’ve heard you should drink OJ or chocolate milk (just have sugar) before you go in if you want to make sure your LO (little one) cooperates with the anatomy scan. So, my appt was at 2pm. I drank about 12 oz of OJ and had a cookie around 1:30 to 1:45 (and normally I don't even need anything because the LO kicks me A LOT!) Unfortunately, my dr's office was running very late and we didn’t get seen until 2:50! Of course, right?! This has never happened before, we usually get in within 5 min or so but this has to be the time that this happens, especially when my parents were with us. So the u/s tech is doing her job and she knew we wanted to know the sex. About 25 minutes into it she was done seeing if all organs were there, etc, and everything looked good. However, the LO wouldn’t uncross their legs! We waited a few more minutes with her poking my stomach with the wand but nothing! I was a little disappointed at first but I was more worried about the baby being healthy then knowing the details of the sex, so I can’t complain. I think I was more disappointed because my parents were there and it didn’t happen.
In the meantime, the u/s tech says I need another u/s in 4 weeks because of a low lying placenta. With placenta previa, if the placenta doesn’t move up from the cervix, a c-section is the only alternative. Now, both my doctor and the u/s tech told me it usually moves up and we have plenty of time for this to happen so I shouldn’t worry yet, and I’m not. Even if I have a c-section I won’t be crushed as long as the baby is healthy. And the good news is, I get to have an u/s every four weeks until the placenta moves up (or until birth), so I at least have another opportunity to find out the sex. My next u/s is August 4th. Even if the LO still decides to not cooperate on August 4th, we’re going to do a 3d/4d one at the end of August. And even if they don’t cooperate then, I guess we’ll just wait until their birth!
I’m going to start to get things ready as far as the big purchases…crib, stroller, changing table, etc. I just wanted to try to get girlie or boy themed things but I’ll hold off for that stuff for now. I waited so long to get stuff to find out the sex but I just don’t want to wait anymore. For certain big ticket items, it doesn’t matter though. We wanted to paint the room in August in either a boy or girl color but we may have to either hold off on that too or just do it neutral. We’ll just have to wait and see.
The dr also said the baby is measuring in the low end of the normal range, which is perfectly fine. He said if I were to continue on with this rate, the baby would be around 6 ½ lbs at delivery, which is perfectly ok with me, and the dr said it was fine too. I was only 5 1/2 lbs and I turned out ok! :) That being said, I’m already up 14 lbs…14 LBS!!! My dr said it was still in the normal range but geez! My normal range is 25-35 lbs and I swore I’d stay around 25. I'm half way there today (20 wks). I think my body is hoarding food though, so not quite sure why the baby is on the small side but I don’t care as long as s/he's healthy.

Pregnancy so far- 20 weeks today, 7/10/10!!
Pregnancy has been great so far! I've been really lucky. This picture below is of me on 4/14/10. I am 7 weeks 4 days here.

This picture was taken on 6/9/10. I'm at 15 weeks, 4 days here. Starting to get a little belly here but it could be bloating since I could still fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes at this point.
