Baby girl clothes

We received these items from Carter’s a few days ago and I thought I’d share since they are so cute! Since we had a coupon for Carter’s clothes, we “splurged” on these. Still spent around $40 for all these items…not too bad! Two are 0-3 months and two are 3-6 months. I would have to say, after looking at multiple baby clothes (new and used), Carter’s seem to hold up the best and are the cutest I’ve seen!

Baby items

So for my birthday yesterday we went out to lunch at Bahama Breeze (and had a really old giftcard leftover to pay for most of it)! Afterwards, we went to Old Navy, where I picked up a few more maternity shirts and a few clearance items for the baby for next summer. Thankfully, we happened to have an old giftcard for that too, so we only spent $2!! I got four maternity shirts and we picked up a pink onesie, and two shirts for the baby. These clothes were for months 6-12 (next summer) and they were on clearance so we only spent $2 on each shirt and $3 for the onesie! Even Once Upon a Child can’t beat those prices!

Then we went to Once Upon a Child (actually went to two of them) and picked up a boppy pillow (which I still need a cover for), a contoured changing pad (which we still need a cover for), a few toys, and a head/neck support for the car seat. Some of the items were brand new, still in the packaging. I don’t know why anyone would pay full price for such things when you can get them for next to nothing!

So after looking at the calendar, we realized we only have 13 ½ weeks left before the little one is here! Hard to believe! Everything is falling into place though and we are feeling more prepared by the day. :)

More nursery pics

So the valance is now up! Dan did a great job hanging it. We also had to rearrange the wall pillows because the table lamp is a little taller than we thought. You can't really tell but there are purple and white bows on the lamp shade, which I hot glued on. It is really cute! (Check out Caesar in his bed by the dresser. He looked so sad as we were arranging things and just wants to be held when we're in her room. Poor thing!)

Nursery pics

It’s finally finished!!! Of course, we still need to add the valance, mobile, and her name letters to the wall (above the crib), but at least the painting is done! We are thrilled with the way it turned out!

Nursery pics

Here's what the white stripes look like without the blue tape! We're putting the final touches on it tomorrow, so the final pictures should be up by Thursday/Friday!! :)

Another pregnancy photo

This is a picture of me from today, August 15. I’m 25 weeks, 1 day here. It is amazing how much my belly has grown since the last picture. Supposedly the baby was hitting a growth spurt this past week and we can definitely tell a difference. My belly button has almost stretched completely out already! It looks so weird!

Painting the nursery

We spent all weekend (minus hanging out with friends on Saturday night) painting the baby’s room. We started by going to Home Depot on Friday (and then made four consecutive trips throughout the weekend!) and picking out paint. We picked “Weeping Wisteria”, a lavender color for the main paint. Once we finished painting, however, we were a little worried! It seemed so purple! Then we spent Sunday afternoon placing the stripes on the wall to paint them white. And after painting the white stripes, we are very happy with the way it has turned out so far! We still need to paint a border between the solid lavender and white stripes, but we’re deciding on whether it should be more white or the darker purple called “Pandora” that we also bought from Home Depot.

Here I am putting up the tape on the baseboard. And below is Dan starting to paint the walls.

Here's Dan starting to measure the stripes for the white paint.

And me painting the white stripes.

Caesar was feeling a little lonely so he kept me company while I painted.

Baby girl clothes

Today we went looking for baby girl clothes, ages newborn and 0-3 months. We got some really cute things (and one for Christmas mass!) which we posted below.

This one says "Daddy's girl", which I'm sure she'll be! :)

This one below is my favorite! And Dan actually picked it out!

24 weeks 1 day

Here are some pics from August 8th. I’m 24 weeks, 1 day here. I know I’ve gotten a little bigger since I last posted pics but not too much, which I guess makes sense since I only gained three pounds from my appointment on 7/7 until now. So, I'm up 17 lbs total so far.

Crib bedding set

We picked out our crib bedding today!! Looks like we will not be going with pink and brown after all. After looking at girl bedding, I fell in love with this lavender set. Of course, the room will not be this purple, since we're still planning on doing the chair rail and stripes underneath it. We were thinking a light lavender on top and either stripes of white and lavender on the bottom or lavender and a dark purple on the bottom. The set includes the comforter, bumper, fitted sheet, skirt, two window valances, diaper stacker, toy bag, two throw pillows, and three wall art décor hangings. We still need to get the matching mobile to go with it and probably the matching lamp also but this is a good start! Dan's very excited to start painting though. We will pick the wall colors out as soon as the crib bedding arrives (we ordered it online).

Week of August 2nd

We really accomplished a lot this week while Dan’s family was here! We looked at many different stores for nursery furniture and baby things. We purchased these items from Once Upon a Child: an Infantino baby carrier, a baby gate, and a Graco bouncer. We ended up getting great deals on all of them! I don't think Caesar will like the gate too much though. Too bad it doesn't have a doggie door for him. I can just see him whining when he's on one side and wants to go on the other!

After looking at multiple nursery items at different stores, we decided on the crib collection from Target, which had a six drawer dresser, sleigh convertible crib (meaning from a crib to toddler bed to full size bed), and a glider. We will use the six drawer dresser as a changing table also…we just need to get the attachment pad for it. That way, we can use the dresser for years to come instead of it just looking like a changing table! Our neighborhood Target only had the dresser so we purchased that then. However, they did not have the crib or glider. We were just going to order it online but the glider was sold out online and was in select stores only. (It figures since this was the only one I really liked!) However, one Target across town had both the crib and glider! So after bringing it home, Dan and his dad put them all together and just like that, the nursery furniture is up and ready! We’re so thankful they were here to help with everything! We’re looking into bedding sets this week and next and hopefully Dan will be painting before the end of August. We’re leaning towards a pink and brown nursery but we’ll see.
Here's the crib without the mattress and bedding.

This is the glider and ottoman, which is brown suede and very comfortable. I can definitely see myself spending hours in it. (Graco bouncer is on the floor on the right of it.)

This is the six drawer dresser. Of course, it will have a changing pad on top of it but it is sturdy wood and we are very happy with the way it turned out!

Here's the two of us in the nursery before painting/decorating. We can't wait to start painting! Everything else has been so much fun so far now that we have found out the gender! ;)
