21.5 months old

Well, not too much to report.  Ashlan may have pinkeye though, so that’s a major bummer.  We go in to the Ped tomorrow morning to confirm, but I can’t imagine what else it would be.  It looks like we’ll be confined to the house this week, or at least maybe we can go to the park.  :(  Luckily, I can still workout because Ashlan likes her jogging stroller and if I promise her that we’ll stop at the park afterwards, I’m sure I can get 4 miles in when we go.  Not as long as I’d like, but I’ll take it.  I’m sure she got it from the gym daycare anyway, but man!  Poor girl can never catch a break!  I’m hoping her getting sick this much when she’s little means she’ll have a stronger immune system when she goes to school but I guess we’ll see.  Poor girl.  She looks miserable even though she still has pretty high spirits.

Last weekend, we had two birthday parties to go to!  They were both really fun and Ashlan had a great time at both.  She ate her first piece of cake at one party, which is extremely unusual for her since she doesn't like anything with sugar in it.  This weekend, we had Ashlan’s BFF’s birthday party.  Unfortunately, since Ashlan may have pinkeye, she stayed home with Dan, and only I went.  We were all disappointed because we were looking forward to it, but you can’t help that.  It just figures that it couldn’t have happened tomorrow, right?  That’s life, haha!

So this morning I was playing with Ashlan and I picked up her tent and tried to hide behind it but my feet were sticking out.  She clearly said, “I see you!”  Can’t put anything past her, lol!  She is definitely talking more and more.  Sometimes it’s hilarious what comes out of her mouth.  Yesterday she would not go to bed, so Dan sat in there with her while I was listening via her monitor.  (Every once and awhile she wants us to sit in there with her.  She never wants rocked usually, just wants us to be there.)  Anyway, she was gibber gabbering to herself and Dan said to her, “Ashlan, it’s time to go to bed”.  She said, “Ok, mommy”.  So Dan said, “No, I’m daddy.”  And Ashlan says without missing a beat, “Ok, Daddy”.  LOL!  Man, she cracks us up!

My parents are visiting very soon here, so we are looking forward to that!  And mommy and daddy are looking forward to some free babysitting.  (Please, Mom?  Haha!)  Hopefully Ashlan’s pinkeye is cleared up by then!

Ashlan's setup in our bedroom for football Sundays.

Holy teeth!  She looks like a vampire here, lol!

Yesterday she only wanted ice to eat.  Weird until we learned she wasn't feeling well.

Such a great helper already!  She seriously vacuumed some of the pool for us.  She has helped me with laundry already...and the pic below is of her dusting!

My little helper.  She was dusting the seat of the couches, and I asked her to get the upper portion, so she crawled up and dusted it.  And it actually needed it, haha!!!

Silly girl.  Running around with a bucket on her head!

Playing horsey with mommy.

Her new favorite thing to do...

Push daddy in the pool.

"Come on, Daddy!"

Here we go again.

So happy with herself, lol.

Ashlan's red eyes.

Poor baby.  :(

At least she was happy even though she looks miserable.

Intently "reading" a book.  :)

21 months- Sept 2012

Not much has really changed since the last time I’ve blogged.  Ashlan’s still talking a lot and seems like she’s adding words every week, so I can’t really report on that.  We did go to the zoo with a friend the other day, and I’ve been working on staining the chest and putting up some of the things related to Ashlan, so that’s about all I have for you this week.  I finally finished Ashlan’s photo albums, so I am caught up until July of this year, woohoo! (It was from December to July, haha!  I usually tried to do it every 3 months).  Luckily, I haven’t taken an obscene amount of pictures in August and in September so far, so I’m pretty much caught up for now, which has allowed me to do other projects.  I have already completed Ashlan’s growth ruler and the shadowbox with her first usable shoes, headband, and handprint in it, so I’m currently working on the chest that I’m staining, but only one more coat and I’ll be done with that.

Ashlan had a fever this day, so she was all snuggles and wanting under the blanket.

The finished growth ruler.

The chest's before picture.

After I sanded the stain off.

At the zoo, looking at the anteater.

Ashlan and Tyler were mesmerized.

We went on 9/11, which made the zoo sooooo dead.

Interesting creature.

Staring at the tapir.

Cannot remember what this animal is...

But apparently Ashlan and he had a staring contest, haha!!

Trying to look at the turtle that was down below.

This was us trying to get a picture together by a fountain...

The picture was not happening, haha!!

She was doing circles around the tree.

It was kinda funny...she did it like 10 times.  :)

By the carousel.

Checking out the kangaroos.

This is how the little kids can look at the penguins.

She was too scared to go underneath.  :)

Tired girl.

The growth ruler and the shadow box I stained.

Her first handprint (18 months), shoes (12 months), and headband (6 months).

Ashlan set a clean diaper down and set her dolly down on top of it, haha!!

My pretty girl.

Carrying her step stool around everywhere.  :)

I asked her to say 'cheese'.  Haha!!

The first coat of stain.  :)

And Dan finally put her toilet seat up.  :)  It's just an add on to the regular seat.
