10 week pics

Ashlan and I have been enjoying the 60 degree weather in the mornings! Every day that Dan works, we take the jogging stroller out for a jog. These last 15 lbs are proving harder than I thought to get off. They are coming off very slowly but I guess at least they are coming off. I’m not cutting back on food intake though because I’m still breastfeeding but if I had been working out like this pre-pregnancy, I’d have already dropped the weight so I’m not sure why it’s taking so long this time. I’m usually able to run 4-5 times a week at 3 miles each time. I’m only able to run 10 minute miles right now but hope to get back to my 8-9 minute miles eventually and also up to 4-5 miles again. She is an angel on the jogs too! She will be up for about 10 minutes into the jog and then she falls asleep. She usually gets a 20 minute nap in before I am done but she will always wake up between the transfer from the stroller into the house, unfortunately. However, she still manages to get a few good naps in during the day, which leads to her sleeping better at night.

Since I’m a little OCD (haha), I have been keeping track of all her feedings, naps, poops, pees, and how long she sleeps at night. This is not only to see if there is a pattern (which there is) but also to make sure she is getting enough nap time during the day. We have found that her getting enough naps is directly related to how well she sleeps at night. We have been lucky that Ashlan usually goes down around 10 to 10:30pm and usually doesn’t wake up until 5 or 6 am. We originally tried to get her to go down around 8:30 to 9pm but we found that not only did she not sleep as long but she also was a lot more fussy when she slept and often had a hard time staying asleep without us intervening.  So, though it might be a little late, it is what works for us.  Once in a while she will need a feeding, or a binky in the middle of the night, but then she goes right back to sleep. And ironically, she has been spitting the binky out lately after only a few minutes and falling asleep without it again, so that is great that I don’t have to keep getting up to put it back in her mouth! We still put her down drowsy (or sometimes fully awake) and she almost always can get herself to sleep, so we are very happy about that too, that we don’t have to rock her or sing to her, etc. (Not that we don’t enjoy rocking or singing to her, but it is nice to know that she can fall asleep without that!) We know sleeping can change so we hope she keeps this schedule and is always this easy to get to sleep!

We also have been taking advantage of the 70 degree days by taking Caesar on a long walk in the afternoons too, which Caesar loves. We took him to the vet last week for his six month checkup (he gets checkups twice a year because of his epilepsy) and he actually lost about a pound! That’s a lot considering he only weighed about 8 ½ lbs before. It’s not because he won’t eat…it’s just because I guess I was feeding him too many green peppers and green beans and not enough dry food! So the vet just told us to up his dry food a little. I also think that going on these walks with Ashlan almost every day has helped him in the weight department.

Dan's family is coming down in a week so we are very excited for them to meet Ashlan!  Hopefully the weather will also cooperate since it's been in the 70's all week.

Onto the pictures...

She always sleeps with her hand on your chest.
I think she looks just like Dan here!  She may have my chin but she has all his other features as of right now.

She definitely has my lip flexibilities!
We got a bumbo seat the other day from Babies’R’Us and I get such a big kick out of her sitting in it since she looks like a little person in it instead of a baby!  Here are some pics below of her in it.

Just hanging out with daddy outside on a gorgeous day.

 She looks confused!  Haha.
Before going on a walk with Caesar and daddy.
Daddy loves to give her mohawk hair.  Love her expression here!  (By the way, the 0-3 onesie that she has on is way too small for her...her big tummy stretches it to the max!  Guess we're going to have to get her a bigger size, especially since there is no way the cloth diapers would fit under them!)
This is how I see her about 90% of the time!  About 7% is fussing and the other 3% is crying.  She is such a happy baby for the most part!
Big blue eyes!

She is always looking around and at anything you put in front of her.
