The doctor’s visit on Wednesday went very well, considering Ashlan got her 4 month shots. She stuck out her bottom lip and her face got red but she only cried for a second or two, which surprised us! I think she’s going to be a tough little girl! She weighed 14 lbs 10 oz and was 25 inches long, which was in the 50th percentile. She was in the 75-90th percentile last time (at 2 months) for both height (23 inches) and weight (11 lbs 9 oz) so I’m VERY glad she’s slowing down! I couldn’t keep up with her clothes fitting her for awhile! It seemed every few days she would grow out of something! The Ped also said we should be moving into two naps a day of about 2-3 hours. Since we were doing four until recently that was a big change, though a few were small ones. She was definitely ready though (at least to scale down to three) and didn’t fuss at all like she had been a few days before when I tried to put her down. No wonder! She probably was trying to tell me she wasn’t tired! We are having a problem though with her making naps last longer than 40-50 min. I’m hoping it’s just the 4 month regression, but I think it’s been going on too long to be that. When we get home from PA we’re going to work on elongating naps and the crib. Still having problems with her in the crib! Sleep is still so, so broken. God bless Dan for getting up to rock/shush her back to sleep a few times a night…even when he works the next day! (Have I mentioned lately how very lucky I am?) I get up too a few times a night but he is actually better at that than me. Anyway, I know a few other moms whose babies sleep soundly in the crib but Ashlan is just not one of them. She always has to be the “special” one, lol!
We’re getting very excited for Ashlan to meet family members she’s never met in the next few weeks! She’s at the perfect age right now because she’s so reactive to us and she can stay awake a little longer now! We also can’t wait to see how she does on the plane. I wish it was a straight shot but considering we bought her a ticket, we had to be practical. We’re flying into Pittsburgh and then renting a car and driving the 2 ½-3 hours to Erie, which should be interesting. She’ll either be exhausted and pass out as soon as we get into the car or she’ll be ornery from being in her car seat so much that day (and strapped down at that, which she hates!).
Ashlan will be 4 months old tomorrow! I can’t believe how fast it has gone! I am really enjoying being able to stay home with her everyday and watching her grow! What a cute little personality she has already!
Onto the pics…
My little cutie!
She is starting to be able to sit on her own, though only for a minute or two...then she falls over unless we're next to her!
So many toys...oh my goodness!
Grabbing her feet is a somewhat new development.
I love her surprised look in this pic!
Still not rolling over but she rolls a lot from side to side!
