Crawling, standing, feeding herself- slow down Ashlan!

Dan’s family visited us the first week of July and once again, I managed to take an enormous amount of pictures. I will probably have to do two entries just so I can get all the pics up on the blog that I want to share!

So here’s the run down:

Ashlan is very good at feeding herself Puffs now (they are like Cherrios that melt in your mouth). I will put about 20 on her tray and do something like feed the dog (where she’s still nearby to watch her in case she chokes) and I’ll turn around and she’ll have 10 gone already!

She has started to pull herself up on things and can also stand by herself for more than a few seconds now (pics to come).

And here’s a big one: she started to crawl! Since she was only a few days over 7 months old when she started this, I thought we had a little more time to babyproof!  Gotta get on it!  She started out by pulling herself around and pushing off the ground with her feet while Dan’s family was here. Then the day they left, she actually crawled with her stomach off the ground for a few feet! Dan didn’t see until he had off on this past Tuesday but he was excited to finally see it too. She is still much better at pushing with her feet and pulling with her hands, but she has gotten her stomach off the ground on quite a few occasions, though she doesn’t make it far yet doing that. However, she is really fast now at pushing and pulling! Caesar is running to get away, lol!

She is up to two 4 oz jars of baby food a day and about 6 tbsp of oatmeal at night, besides the breastmilk throughout the day. She also likes her Puffs and gets some everyday though I can’t really measure how much she gets.

She is now up for about three hours in the morning before her first nap, then four hours and then another four hours after naps. If you do the math, yes, she is still getting up super early. She goes down about 7pm, give or take a half hour and gets up about 5, give or take a half hour. She primarily sleeps through the night. She awakens once and awhile but can find her binky and goes back to sleep. She is attached to those darn things though! She sleeps with them like they’re a lovey. Naps are pretty good right now. It goes exactly the same way in the morning as afternoon. She goes down for a half hour, and then needs to be rocked to sleep again, but will go down again for another hour to hour and a half. I am totally ok with this! Much better than her 35-40 min naps (and sometimes less!!!!).

She’s in 9 month onesies (still)! She has been in them since 4 months. The 9 month dresses and sleep and plays are tight though and we’ll have to up a size soon. She’s also up to 18.4 lbs as of a week and a half ago (at 7 months old exactly)! That’s a pound since last month.

Still puts everything in her mouth but no teeth yet (thankfully!). If she wears bibs in her pics it’s because of the drool anymore, not the spitting up. That hasn’t happened in forever!

Just wanted to share how sweet she is…once and awhile when I rock her to sleep sometimes she’s too awake (though I know she needs a nap!) so I put her binky in my mouth and she will giggle and take it out. Sometimes she puts it in her mouth immediately, but sometimes, she offers it back to me first. She won’t put it in her mouth until I either take it out of her hand and put it in her mouth or unless I take it back with my mouth. And she always either giggles or smiles after that exchange. What a little sweetheart we have.  :)

Playing with her blocks.

Dancing around in her godmother's arms. :)

Seven months old!

Aunt Katie was twirling her around in circles and Ashlan loved it!

Practicing her standing with Daddy's guidance.

Trying to crawl.  First pic of it, though she's not completely on her hands.

Splashing around in the tub!

Happy girl!

More practicing standing under Grammy's watch.

Grammy and Grandpa took Ashlan for a walk (Caesar too but had to carry him part of the way).
