19 months old

We have been super busy these last few weeks.  When Dan works his 5 day work weeks, we fill our days mostly with the gym, playdates, and pool time.  When Dan has off for his 5 day work weeks, we still spend time going to the gym, and in the pool, but we spend it all with Dan.  We have been enjoying this week with Dan since he had an additional day off this week for July 4th, meaning he only worked one day this past week!  That was so nice to have him around so much!  We did trips to the park in the morning before it was too hot, then the gym, and then spent time in the pool in the afternoons.  We went to a BBQ on July 4th and had a great time.  Ashlan ended up only sleeping for an hour that day so she went to bed at 7pm that night!  She usually takes a 2-3 hr nap now.  And Saturday we had a small BBQ and pool party with Ashlan’s BFF and her parents, and had a great time.  It nice to have some great friends down here to spend time with and do fun things with the kiddos.  This coming week since Dan works so much, we have a pool playdate, a beach playdate, a MOSH (Museum of Science and History) playdate, and another playdate.  Busy, busy, busy, but fun, fun, fun!  : )

Ashlan says please when we ask her to say it.  It actually sounds like “pease” though, too cute.  She is answering “yes” and “no” when we ask her a question and usually she means it, but sometimes not, lol!  When we give her cottage cheese or yogurt, she goes to the drawer that we keeps the spoons in, points, and says, “spoon”.  She’ll say “all done” when she’s done eating.  I have been giving her a napkin when she’s finished and she’ll wipe her mouth herself and then wipe off her tray.  She still needs help on that to get it all but it’s a start!  She knows “pop” is for popsicle, lol.  Her new thing is saying, “Are you ok?”  I guess I say it to Caesar pretty often, lately at least with all his seizures, and she has picked up on that.  She will walk up to Caesar and say that phrase like 10 times but it comes out like, “Are you k?”  LOL.  She is pretty attached to him.  We were surprised at her reaction when we took him to the vet recently to get his levels of medicine checked and they took him into another room to draw blood.  She started bawling and yelling “C” out.  Dan and I looked at each other in shock because we didn’t think she was that attached to him.

I don’t know if I ever mentioned it, but she has been identifying family members in pictures for awhile now, and not just Dan and me.  She knows Dan’s parents, my parents, and even says “Aunt Katie”!

We started the Italian Rosetta Stone about a week ago and are trying to do it three to four times a week.  I have been repeating phrases I’ve learned to Ashlan in English and Italian, and going over numbers 1-10 with her in Italian (I’ve been doing English numbers for awhile now).  Hopefully, she will remember some of the things I tell her, and we’d love her to be fluent in Italian someday, along with us too!  We hope to go to Italy next year to meet some of my family and would love to converse with them in Italian, since many don’t know English.

Ashlan taking a break from swimming to eat her "cooks", which are animal crackers.

Mmmm, her first popsicle that she held herself!

Look at that messy face!

Tan little FL girl...even with sunscreen on!  She loves the "shower" or "mist" feature on our hose nozzle.

Ashlan and Audrey dancing.  So funny!

Just thought I'd share the double rainbow we had.  :)

Ashlan and Audrey wanted to sit together.  <3

This is when we had Tropical Storm Debbie...the pool overflowed (that is nothing new with FL rain though), but the water got about an inch from our sliding glass door!  This picture was taken before it got to that point.  I'm glad it finally left us...it hung around for a week!
