Happy 3 months Ashlan!

Happy three month birthday to our little peanut, Ashlan! BIG NEWS: She slept in her crib last night all night long for the first time! So either the Prevacid is working or she is just getting more used to being on her back. Either way, we don’t care! Now she did wake up more often than when she sleeps in her car seat, but all in all, it wasn’t bad. We hope she continues to get more used to it and that she will soon sleep as soundly as she slept in her car seat. She is also taking the Prevacid a little more easier now. We try to use the syringe like it’s a bottle and she usually manages to take all the medicine in. Plus, I don’t think it hurts that it’s strawberry flavored!

Dan’s family was here the past week and they had a great time meeting and playing with Ashlan! She also was giving them lots of smiles, though she seemed to get cranky sometimes in the evenings. I’m betting it was because of all the excitement going on around her. For the most part though, she was pretty well behaved.

So Dan and I were feeling adventurous and managed to go to St. Augustine yesterday (it’s a 50 min drive one way and she gets tired easily of being strapped down). She managed to do pretty well in the car so we’ll probably start venturing out more with her. We had a big time parenting fail though…we forgot her stroller! HAHA! We’ll never do that again! Luckily, I brought one of her carriers, so I wore her for most of the time, but she doesn’t like to fall asleep in that because there is too much to look at. So because of that, she had awful naps, which led to a bit of fussiness in the evening. (We’re not sure if her awful naps had anything to do with her waking up when sleeping in her crib for the first time last night also so we’ll see tonight, I guess.) However, she managed to be an angel while we were at the restaurant though, thankfully! Our waitress asked us how old she was and was surprised when we said three months because of how big she is. Everyone has been telling us that when we tell them her age! Guess she’s a big girl for her age. The waitresses’ daughter was 7 months old and when they brought her over to us she was about the same size as Ashlan! So, though she’s still little to us, to everyone else she must be a big girl!

We also seriously underestimated how cool it would be there. It was 71 degrees in Orange Park but was only 64 degrees in St. Augustine and we didn’t look at their weather (assuming it would be the same) so we were all underdressed. We did have a bunch of extra receiving blankets on us (remember, she’s a spitter) so we just ended up wrapping her in them. Speaking of her being a spitter, the Prevacid must be working because she hasn’t been spitting up nearly as much as she used to, or maybe her system is just maturing. We’re glad we took a chance on St. Augustine though. It was nice to get out of the house and visit one of our favorite places!

Like my sunglasses?  Mommy bought them especially for me
since the weather is already nice!

Is she staring at daddy's wine?
