More pics! Our "Christmas" with Dan's family...

Grammy reading to Ashlan.

Grandpa was helping Ashlan.

Funny story with this.  These are Cd's of kids songs.  She thought it was a book and tried to 'open' it, lol!

She did the same thing with this dvd, lol!  She loves her books!

She was just walking around with this bow on her head, lol!

Early birthday toy from mommy and daddy.  It's like an etch a sketch with a pen.

She wrote, "I love you"!  Haha, yeah right.

Early birthday present from Dan's parents.  Hope she behaves herself on the flight with this!  We had a "Super Why" dvd overnighted so we have it for the trip since she's in love with that show!

Brisk November day!

Can't believe how big she's getting in her stroller!

Daddy pushing her on the swing.

Mommys turn!

Taking off, wanted to walk by herself!

Bedtime stories...she chooses which ones she wants to read.
Of course, I'm sure she'd choose them all if she could!  :)

Thanksgiving; visit with Grammy, Grandpa and Aunt Katie

Happy belated Thanksgiving, everyone! Dan’s family came down to celebrate Ashlan’s 1st Thanksgiving with us and we all had a very nice time. We’re sure Ashlan misses them a lot!

Ashlan is walking regularly but still is unsure of her shoes. We have put her down in public though and held her hand as she walks but she doesn’t want help. Then she’ll start to wobble in her shoes and eventually ends up on the ground trying to crawl, lol! So that is a work in progress, but she’s doing very well with walking at home, at least.

She also understands more than we thought. After going #2 in her diaper, when we say, “let’s go change your diaper”, she marches down the hall to her room for us to change her. She did it once when Dan’s family was here, and now does it almost every time (unless a toy is distracting her!).  She'll also give you a kiss if you ask for one.  Not all the time, but most times.  :)  Mommy loves that!

Most times she refuses to let us feed her at all, unless it’s something like yogurt, but even then, it’s sometimes a lost cause. She’s also started to hide things. Sometimes it’s books, sometimes it’s her binky, sometimes it’s food. We’ll wonder where her binky is, and then realize she put it in the seat of her “bus” or in the trunk of her “car” (they both open). I actually found a small piece of bread in there one day that I gave to her. She’s too funny!

Anyway, I figured I better do a blog entry now, because I’m going to have plenty more pictures after her birthday this weekend!  And this isn't even all of them that I took, I have more that I will post later!

Caesar wants to get in on the love too!

Grandpa reading to Ashlan.

Poor Aunt Katie had her work cut out for her!  Ashlan always wanted a ride on her bus!

Caesar wanted the hand puppets, apparently.

Ashlan giving out hugs and kisses to Grammy.

She was loving this!

Caesar getting some attention.  :)

More hugs and kisses for Grammy.

"What are these?"

Look at this face!  Priceless expression!

Aunt Katie must have done this at least 20 times a day!  :)

Before our trip to St. Augustine.

Ashlan's 1st Thanksgiving.

And this is what she ate for her first Thanksgiving, lol!
She did have a few bites as leftovers since she wasn't hungry at this point.

Asking for a kiss.

Giving me one!  :)
