Ashlan is walking and almost running all over now. She still falls sometimes but she hardly ever crawls anymore. Dan was chasing her around the house the other day and today and when they were done, she was so sweaty, lol! They were both laughing and it was so funny to hear them carrying on.
She is starting to notice certain things that she wasn’t before. For instance, when we are putting her to sleep at night, she is noticing our shadow on the wall from her night light. We didn’t think much of it the first time, but then she has been noticing it every night now for about two weeks or so. She points to it and sometimes it distracts her so much that she gets excited again instead of sleepy! She also knows where her socks go. I sat down one night with her in her recliner to put them on her before bed. I dropped one, so I put the other one in her lap while I reached down to get the dropped one. She took the one from her lap, extended her leg out, and touched the sock to her foot, so she definitely ‘gets’ that her foot is where the sock goes. She also turns the page for us every time when we read her a story, and she’s been doing that for weeks too.
We took Ashlan to get her one year pictures the other day. Even though it was two weeks early, we have Dan’s parents coming into town the week of Thanksgiving and then we are going to PA for her birthday party, so we had to fit them in sometime! I think I emailed them to the grandparents but if you’re interested, they’re posted to my facebook page. It was pretty hard to try to get her to smile on command. She always smiles for us, but it’s never on cue, haha! So, we tried our best where she was by herself, and when she was with us, either Dan or I tickled her, lol! She was a little squirmy when we did it, but we still got some pretty good pictures out of it. Hey, you do what ya gotta do!
Dan's family is coming in this week for Thanksgiving so we are looking forward to that, and I'm sure Ashlan is too! This will probably be the last blog until that visit is over with so Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
