The Ashlan Adventures

I guess I’ve been slacking so I’m going to break this up into two blog entries since I have so many pictures to post.

Ashlan and I dropped Grammy and Aunt Katie off at the airport on Monday and said goodbye to them just before security.  Ashlan started waving bye to them once they turned to walk away, of course.  But we all had a wonderful time with them and are looking forward to our next visit.

Ashlan has been talking up a storm lately!  She says “ruff ruff” when looking at dogs, both in person and in books.  She repeats words after we say them, like she said “fly” after we say butterfly, and “raffe” after giraffe (but she has been doing that one for awhile).  She repeats many other words after we say them too.  Some words she regularly says are “go”, “hi”, “uh oh”, “oh no”, “yes”, “ok”, “no”, “bath”, “bye”, and I’m sure a few more that I failed to mention.  She also is saying “hey you” (Daddy’s fault for that one, lol!).

Ashlan has been doing something new when she is tired.  She’ll go to her room and lay herself on her recliner when she wants to go to bed, for naps and bedtime.  It has happened like five times already.  She’ll just disappear down her hallway and we’ll call to her and she doesn’t really answer.  Then when we go to see where she went, she is laying on her recliner.  Too funny!

Coming off the slide.  She loves it!

Trying the steps herself.

Doing a pretty good job by herself.  She was very determined!

Aunt Katie was doing a good job keeping watch.

It was pretty windy...check out her hair.

Look at her hair!

Getting good at it.

Wants to crawl back up the slide.

She could do this for hours...and throws a fit when we leave!

She was sucking on this frozen washcloth for like 20 minutes!  No teeth though, and she wasn't that cranky either so not sure why she wanted it.

She wasn't feeling the best here.  We think she caught a little cold because she was burning up and very lazy that day.  The fact that she could have Caesar on her is unbelievable and so is her sitting still!
