So we are into cloth diapering full time now except for nights!!! However, I just ordered two special inserts for the diapers for nighttime, which are supposed to allow 10x the absorbancy. A few people I know cloth diaper and they recommended them because their toddlers sleep 12+ hours at night without leaks so I am excited to try them so we can cloth diaper all the time! Also, because I change her every 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours, she has absolutely no rashes either! I also ordered more diapers, these ones have prints on them. I was going to order them months ago but thought I would wait just to make sure I liked the ones we have. Well, I LOVE them! So, I ordered ones with teddy bears, flowers, pink hearts, and apples on them. They are adorable and I can’t wait to get them! Since I figured out the snaps, we have had no leaks at all! I can’t believe how easy it is!
Here are some pics of Ashlan in pocket dipes. (They do not look this bulky once she has clothes on!)
Here were her 3 month pics.
Loves her activity mat! (She has a cloth diaper on in all these pics.)
Her new thing is staring at her bib.
Love this pic!!
Well, nights in the crib are still not going well. In fact, they seem to be getting worse! Dan has off this weekend so I think we are going to try to hammer it out this weekend for good, hopefully! The girl just hates to sleep on her back! Naps in the crib are also not going so well. I’ll start her out in my arms, she’ll fall asleep and whenever I put her down in the crib, she usually only lasts 20 min (if that). And it doesn’t matter if I rock her for 20 min (to get her in a good deep sleep) or if I rock her for 2 min….the outcome is the same. It also doesn’t matter if I put her down drowsy, try shushing and patting, or rocking, all outcomes are the same. We even took her mobile down because she would just stare at it for like an hour in her crib when she should have been sleeping…which would then lead to overtiredness, and the vicious cycle would start again. Considering at this age they should have a max wake time of 1 hour 30 min, trying to get her in her crib is a fight. I can get her asleep no problem by 1 hour 30 min….in my arms! But it’s her constant waking up and us trying to get her back into the crib about three or four times which leads to major overtiredness (because this usually goes on for 40+ min), then a fussy and/or crying baby that just ends up crying/fussing for 10 min or so and then eventually falling asleep in our arms just to make sure she takes a nap. Now that she’s over three months (we didn’t worry about this before since everyone says you can’t spoil a baby), we want to get her into her crib more. She’s even vetoing sleeping in the swing now, which she never used to do before. Sometimes she can sleep in the swing if I have something to do but she fights sleep so hard until she’s exhausted, which leads to a fitful sleep anyway. Since she never used to be this hard to get to sleep, I think it must be because she is so much more aware of her surroundings. It seems like she doesn’t want to miss anything. I’m hoping this “anti nap” stage passes quickly because she has been Little Miss Cranky Pants lately, which is soooo unlike her! Hope it’s just her 3 month growth spurt!
We had an anti nap anti sleep thing with both girls around 3 months...then we had a we love sleep thing for almost 3 weeks...now they are back to the good napping and pretty good sleeping at night :) It will get better...shes a cutie pie!!
