23-24 weeks

Sleep from Ashlan has been pretty good. The other day she slept from 8pm to 6:30am, though most days she still gets up at 5:45 (which I actually prefer because of running purposes). However, Caesar caught a cold or has allergies from the pollen and we now wake up to his sneezing several times a night. I can’t stand it, lol! If it's not one child, it's the other!  He’s getting better but I feel so sorry for him when he has uncontrollable sneezing fits…they go on for about a minute!

So Ashlan is noticing Caesar a lot more lately. She will smile when she sees him and will often reach for him, though usually she’s out of range, like in the exersaucer or highchair. She does also reach for him on the ground though. Whenever he walks by she follows him with her eyes and often looks at me and smiles after I say, “That’s Caesar”. You can definitely tell she wants to play with him. Poor Caesar, he doesn’t know what he’s in for. He usually could care less about her but sometimes I’ll catch him sleeping by her crib or he’ll come over and lay next to her when we’re playing on the floor so I think he’s definitely warming up to her.

She is starting to sit by herself, though most of the time it’s still by her “tripoding” or using us to lean against when she loses her balance. She can hold herself for a few seconds though before tumbling over. And she’s been working on her army crawl since PA (about a month ago) but still hasn’t figured out the arms yet for crawling. Not that I’m complaining though, I really CAN wait for her to start crawling! She’s already growing too fast!

The other day we went to our financial advisor to start her college fund and get her life insurance policy.  We've been meaning to go for months now but we always had things to do on Dan's days off.  So since she's over five months old, we had to get on her college fund before a year or more had passed and we still hadn't done it.  There's always something on the to-do list!  We still have to get our will done so hopefully we can do that in the next few weeks too.  We wanted to get that done awhile ago too but haven't.  Ironically, my old boss in Jacksonville now does wills (she's an attorney and an accountant) so we're going to go to her.  Small world, even in a big city!

So I ordered more diapers the other day. There are even some new cute prints so I’m excited and hopeful that these will be like the last batch I received. I have been using the others in the meantime and they’re ok…but it only takes one that still has some Tide residue in it to give her a rash. Other than the occasional sposie (which is still rare, like 1 or 2 every two days or so), we’re cloth diapering 24/7 for the most part. Once I get these new ones I think we’ll be full time for good!!!

Ashlan trying to sit.

My reaction as I catch her falling over just as Dan snaps the pic.

Leaning to the right...but she managed to straighten herself again.

Such a happy girl.

Loves her kisses from mommy...and got some giggles from her too.
Though she still does not seem ticklish!

Her face cracks me up here!  She's usually all smiles when I do this so not quite sure what brought this face on.

Snuggling from daddy.

Sitting up, though the boppy is behind her so not sure
how much of this is her on her own.

Army crawl.

Look at how big she's getting in her high chair!

I think she knows the chair means food now so she's usually all smiles when she's being put in it.  (Although, she's usually all smiles anyway, lol!)

Getting her used to the sippy cup.

"Mom, what is this?"

"This definitely does not taste like my binky!"

She cracks me up.

Now she's getting used to it.  (There was nothing inside yet, just wanted her
to get used to the feel of it.)

I love her expression here!  "What?  Am I in trouble?"

She loves feet!  And not just my feet that have painted toenails, she likes Dan's too!

Examining my feet.

Tripoding it.  Except usually she puts her hands on the insides of her legs.

"What Mom?"
