Ashlan had a little bug for the past few days but I think the worst is over with now. She was stuffy and would throw up every once and awhile due to accidently gagging herself. We saw the doctor on Friday just in case, since she was wheezing a bit, but she is just fine. She was sleeping in later (until 7:30 or so) and taking 3 one hour naps per day, and neither of those is like her. She seems to have gotten back into taking 2 one hour naps and waking around 7 am again (and still goes to bed at 6pm usually).
We went to the St. Augustine Greek Festival on Saturday. We went with the same people we go with every year and always have a good time. At one point, Ashlan was clapping along to the music and watching the dancers dance! She did pretty well until it was close to her nap time. It was raining off and on all day so we didn’t stay long anyway. We also went to Carter’s outlet on the way there to get her some winter clothes for when we visit PA here soon and she got some cute things. We still need shoes/boots for her but I’d say she’s mainly done for winter clothes unless she has a major growth spurt!
She is also doing very well eating with the fork. She still uses her hands, but she also uses the fork, and correctly too. She can stab pieces of food and put it right into her mouth. I think allowing her to play with the fork and her food has allowed her to experiment, which is why she can use the fork now. I think it will be awhile still for the spoon though. I made her mini meatballs and mini farfalle the other day when Dan and I had spaghetti and meatballs. She loved them! I still cut the meatballs in half to make it easier for her to eat and stab them. She stabbed each one and put it in her mouth and she ate about 6 of them, so that’s 12 pieces that she put in her mouth with the fork! Not to mention, she also had chicken quesadillas, which I cut in small pieces too, and she stabbed them with the fork and put them into her mouth also (though some of those she used her fingers). I’m just constantly amazed by how fast she’s growing up…and how stubborn she can be when she wants something!
We were skyping with Nana and Papa yesterday and today, and they got to see her take some steps! She is still “walking” like that, only a few steps at a time, but she’s getting more stable. It’s so exciting to see her learn something new!
Using the fork with her left hand...
Eating grilled chicken and mini shells...and using her right hand.
Ah, going back to fingers. :)
And back to the fork.
This is a favorite spot of hers.
This is how she greeted us one morning (and how she greets us every morning)!
After she stands up the first time, she sits back down, grabs her toys, and stands back up again. :)
Then she runs over to the mobile (which is now a projector on the ceiling) and turns it on.
Her hair is getting curly! <3
I love the back of her head! LOL!
This is when I turned on the computer right before I put her down for her nap. She got all excited because she thought we were skyping with Nana and Papa. I only pull the computer out to Skype when she's up.
Showing me her mini farfalle, and choosing not to eat with the fork, but just to hold it instead.
